Heartwood Cello Choir (formerly "Amichevoli Cello Choir") is a cello choir comprised of the advanced students from the studios of Brittany Gardner, Ariel Haubner & Jamilyn Morris. The name "Heartwood" was chosen by members in our 9th season, to reflect a commitment to playing from the heart, and connecting to the hearts of our audience and community.
This group of young cellists not only enjoys warm camaraderie and open hearts with each other, but seeks also to promote good feelings and collaboration within the community, both locally and globally. Whether performing together in service at retirement centers, in collaboration with local music programs, as part of a food drive or a benefit concert, or simply in beautiful performance spaces in our community, students from Heartwood Cello Choir bring joy and human connection to all they do.
Students from this group have been awarded a variety of honors. Among this group you'll find ballet dancers with Ballet West's Nutcracker, school spelling bee winners, Salute to Youth soloists, Concerto Night soloists, Youth Guild Recital winners, Gifted Music School concerto competition winners, members of the Suzuki Youth Orchestras of the Americas, student body officers, Stirling Scholars, Carnegie Hall soloists, and principal cellists in a variety of youth music groups. But above all these honors shines their greatest accomplishment: developing a beautiful heart through their disciplined study of collaborative music-making.
